Artem Chigvintsev is facing legal trouble.
The Dancing with the Stars pro, who has been married to former WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia since 2022, was arrested Aug. 29 on domestic violence charges, according to booking documents viewed by E! News.
Chigvintsev—who was partnered with stars like the Bachelorette’s Charity Lawson and Heidi D'Amelio on the reality dance competition over the course of his 12 seasons on the show—was taken into custody mid-morning, and later released on a $25,000 bail in Napa, California. He was charged with California penal code section 273.5 (a)PC, which is related to acts of violence against a spouse or other cohabitant.
E! News has reached out to reps for Chigvintsev but has not yet heard back.
Neither Chigvintsev nor Garcia—who share 4-year-old son Matteo—have spoken out since the arrest. However, Garcia did note to followers she was in Napa—where their family owns a $1.5 million home—the day prior.
“Got a facial today!” Garcia wrote in her Instagram Story on Aug. 28. “Love my spot in downtown Napa @nude.medical”
The arrest comes just days after the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary. And for the Aug. 26 occasion, they reflected on their special day on social media.
For her part, Garcia, 40, quoted lyrics from Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” alongside a supercut of moments from their 2022 nuptials.
“This song is our love story,” she also wrote in the caption of the Aug. 26 post. “I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be.”
Meanwhile, Chigvintsev also shared two wedding photos to his own Instagram page.
“Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you,” he wrote in his own Aug. 26 post. “You are my everything.”
